Mutagen Horrors

An acriflavine derivative. Used as a disinfectant bacteriostatic against many gram-positive bacteria. Formerly known as a urinary antispetic.

Known to have a mutagenic effect on DNA. A synthetic acridine dye of red-brown crystals, soluble in water, used as a powerful and effective antiseptic during the WWII. It intercalates acid-base pairs. It causes basepair-deletions or basepair-insertions and not substitutions.
